Start with the ceremony time
Everything flows from your ceremony. Work backwards for getting ready and forwards for drinks, portraits and dinner. As a rule, we like to arrive around two hours before the ceremony to capture the quieter moments.
Leave room for getting ready
Getting-ready coverage is where many of the most emotional images happen. Aim to be dressed around 30–45 minutes before you leave, so there's time for details, a first look with family, and a moment to breathe.
Portraits and group photographs
Keep formal groups to a focused list — eight to ten combinations is plenty. For couple portraits we suggest two short sessions: 20 minutes during the drinks reception and ten minutes around golden hour.
Why golden hour matters
The hour before sunset gives soft, warm, flattering light. In Yorkshire summers that can be late in the evening, so check sunset times for your date.
Evening coverage
If your first dance is a moment you'd love captured, plan coverage until at least 30 minutes after it. It's also when wedding films come alive with music, movement and atmosphere.
